The State of the Group Address - 2008

This is "The State of the Group Address." Hello once again.

First of all, our group survived another year together. I want to say, "Welcome" to the new members. I'm glad that they decided to joined us here at KB this year. We look forward to having them around for years to come. The new members are our future leadership in the making. I just hope that some of them step up to the task and continue to make our group grow.

As I have said before, "I will be stepping down from the board after this year." It's time to think about who will lead our group next.

I have seen a lot of progress in the group this past year.

  • We have had five (5) new members this past year. Sorry to say that some members were missing for different reasons this past year.
  • We had our annual elections, with two new B.O.D. members.
  • We have had quite a few inquires about joining KB this year. Our crack team of interviewer's (Marilyn & Pamela) has done a great job in handling the interviews and continuing our growth.
  • Our Finances have done well this past year, we should thank our Treasurer, Dana for keeping us in the black and out of the red.
  • We must thank our Editor, Nancy, for her work on our website and the Pink Slip.
  • The group should also thank Marilyn & Kari for their support and door prizes throughout the year.
  • The board has recommended and the membership approved our latest edition of the group's by-laws. Before this past year, hardly anyone had seen, or read the by-laws.

We ask that all of our members take some time to think about the group and what they would like to see or do in the future.

I would like to say to all of KB's members, "It has been a pleasure to serve the group and all the members this past year!" So in closing, I will say that Kappa Beta has done very well this past year and our future looks brighter.
