From the Chair

Well it's October once again and time for Kappa Beta to celebrate Halloween, KB style! Yes, that means you should all wear or bring your costume to the meeting this month and get in the spirit of the holiday. Remember last year? We had the Yankee bat girl (Donna Marie) join us!

Now let's get down to business... First of all, I would like to say that we have Swooz as our guest speaker and the topic is cosmetics. Swooz gave a great presentation in August about the shape of your face and what hairstyle would be best for you. So, we're glad to have her back!

We had some new applicants at the September meeting and a few old members returned as well. We hope that they all return again this month. KB needs the old and the new members to continue our quest to grow in the right direction as a group. Dana will not be attending this month, we will miss her and Kathy.

Kari and Marilyn said they will be bringing some slides from SCC along as well. The B.O.D will be discussing the calender dates and Christmas party, so please give your input, suggestions, or wishes to them at this month's meeting. I look forward to seeing you all there this month!

Applicants and recruitment

Ladies, I am happy to announce that 14 personal invitations were sent to applicants for the October 20th meeting by yours truly. This effort was made possible by not only by your board members but many thanks also go to Pamela and Trish who helped in interviews and screening. Please give the applicants and SOs who come to the meeting in October a very warm welcome and make them feel they have found a home with us.

Why men should not write advice columns

Dear Walter:

I hope you can help me here. The other day I set off for work leaving my husband in the house watching the TV as usual. I hadn't gone more than a few hundred yards down the road when my engine conked out and the car shuddered to a halt. I walked back home to get my husband's help.

When I got home I couldn't believe my eyes. He was parading in front of the wardrobe mirror dressed in my underwear and high-heel shoes, and he was wearing my make up.

From the Editor

At the end of my current term, I will have been the editor for over 2½ years. I hope the Pink Slip has noticeably improved. Additionally, I will have been the webmistress for 2 years.

I do not intend to run for the Board again. Therefore, it would be awfully good if someone, or ones, would step forward and start learning how to take over these duties.
