Evelyn's Poem

There is nothing quite so painful
Of having to give what we love.
We cry, we say "oh no, not this"
To God, who is up above.

Tho we may never understand
We must accept His ways.
And try to live for all our lives
His way for all our days.

Yes, even though it's painful;
To give them up it's true.
He only lent them to us;
And now the debt is due.

We all must pay whatever we do,
To God who is up above.
Remembering always that He only
Does for us with love

Dumb Laws

These are real laws that are on the books in the Carolinas.

What Friendship Means To Me

According to Webster's Dictionary, a friend is "A person whom one knows, likes, and trusts. An acquaintance. A person with whom one is allied in a struggle or cause. A supporter, sympathizer or patron of a group, cause, or movement." So in plain English: it is a bond between two people. An acquaintance is "Knowledge or information. Knowledge of a person acquired by a relationship less intimate then friendship."

I usually start out meeting someone or being introduced to him or her through someone else. That makes them an acquaintance. After meeting them I usually decide whether they will stay an acquaintance or if they are friendship material.

The Real Laws: part 1

We are all governed by laws and rules: Federal, State, County, City, and in our case, down to the level of organizational By-Laws. There are certain laws that are so much a part of our existence that they cannot be broken, such as the Laws of Physics, and, may I also offer, Murphy’s Laws.

Yes, that is plural. We are all familiar with Murphy’s Law: "If anything can go wrong, it will." Many people however are not familiar with the many sub-laws that comprise the totality of Murphy’s observations. I will cover ten of them in this article, and perhaps others in the future. I must first reveal that I am not the inventor of these laws, but merely the compiler.
