More on SCC

This is from an email by Stephanie Marie.

First off, I would recommend you join the Yahoo group SCC Lounge at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/scclounge/ It's a semi official source of talk and support for each year's SCC. With the conference now 2 1/2 months away,
the chat is really starting to pick up.

As for SCC itself, there are different registration rates depending on how long you want to attend. It does get rather pricey once you figure in hotel, extra meals, shopping, etc. Many choose only to go for Friday and Saturday which makes for a nice long weekend. All of the rates can be found at http://www.sccatl.org

As for the format of Southern Comfort, the meat of the conference goes from Wed to Sat (Sept 12-15). Starting Thursday, there is a luncheon and dinner everyday (which is part of most registration packages). In the mornings and afternoons, there are many presentations to choose from at the hotel. These cover a wide range of topics in the TG community. That part of the schedule is still being finalized. There are also many outings to Atlanta locales some of which do cost extra. The Saturday night is truly special as there is a gala dinner which everyone really dresses up. If you don't have a formal outfit, don't worry. You won't be turned away.

If any of this interests you, I would suggest you get hotel reservations soon as they do fill up. You can always cancel them later. SCC had around 800 register last year. You will see the full range of the TG community including some going out for the first time. Many spouses also attend. There is even a big sister program for those who need a little extra nudging out the door.

I hope that helps! Much of the schedule will be finalized at the July 14th planning meeting which I will be attending. I have been four times to SCC and felt moved enough to be part of the tech crew this year. It really is an experience that all TG girls should attend once. Feel free to ask any questions.
